Comme resultatde la coopération entre la municipalité de Hå et une commune du Burundi, beaucoup de Norvégiens continuent à s’interreser beaucoup sur ce petit pays. C'est dans ce cadre que une equipe de football Nærbø fc veut cooperer avec une autre equipe junior du Bururndi et plus precisement à Bujumbura. Cette décision a été prise après la visite dans la localite de Nærbø du Ministre de la communication et porte parole du gouvernement Mme Hafasa Mossi. Le Maire de la ville de Bujumbura M. Evrard Giswaswa se preparerait également à effectuer une autre mission de travail dans la région économique de Stavanger vers le début du mois d’octobre 2008. Burundi actualité
The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today approved a three-year SDR 46.2 million (about US$75.6 million) arrangement under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) for Burundi, to support the implementation of the country’s poverty reduction program and its efforts to consolidate macroeconomic stability. Le CPHA, Christian People for Humanitarian Action, est une ONG fondé par Japhet Legentil Ndayishimiye au milieu de la catastrophe humanitaire lors de la crise interethnique qui a emporté plus d’1 million de mort au Rwanda et plusieurs centaines de milliers au Burundi depuis 1994. Le but etait de briser le mur de la segrégation éthnique. Au Burundi l’organisation a pris une forme d’asbl. L’Organisation a beneficié d’une etroite collaboration avec plusieurs ONG internationales etinstitutions des Nations Unies opérant dans la région. Le CYHA est l’une des rares organisations locales qui ont oeuvré sans parti-pris. Aujourd’hui l’organisation est présente au Burundi, au Rwanda, en RDC et en Norvège. Le bureau de la Coordination Internationale se trouve en Norvège.

Burundi - Norvège, le Prince Heritier Haakon au Burundi
Son Altesse royale, le Prince héritier Haakon Magnus de Norvège, a efectué dernierement une visite de quatre jours au Burundi en sa qualité d’Ambassadeur de Bonne Volonté du PNUD, a-t-on appris dans les medias locaux à Bujumbura.
Le Prince héritier a été reçu en audience par le Président de la République, M. Pierre Nkurunziza. A l’issue de la rencontre, le Prince héritier a déclaré à la presse qu’il était « impressionné par le chemin parcouru par le Burundi. »
